Safevi Devleti, 16. yüzyılın başında Şah İsmail tarafından kurulmuştur. Bu hanedanın en dikkate değer hükümdarı Şah Abbas’tır. Zor şartlar altında tahta oturan Şah Abbas, içte merkezi otoriteyi sağlayıp modern bir ordu teşkil ederek batı ve doğu sınırındaki düş- manları etkisiz hale getirmiş, ardından uyguladığı başarılı reformlarla Safevi Devleti’nin en parlak devrini oluşturmuştur. Biz bu makalede, Şah Abbas devrinde İran’ın sosyal ve kültürel durumunu anlatmaya çalışacağız.

Safavid Empire was founded by Shah Ismail at the beginning of the 16th century. Shah Abbas was the most notable ruler of this dynasty. Shah Abbas, who sat on the throne under difficult circumstances, provided inside the central authority and constituted a modern army. Thus, the western and the eastern border enemies become ineffective. In the years following, with the successful reforms of Shah Abbas, the Safavid Empire has lived its best period.We will try to explain social and cultural status of Iran during the reign of Shah Abbas in this article
