Bu makale, Altay Cumhuriyeti, Jabogan kasabası çevresinde bulunan Jabogan Yazıtı’nı okuma denemelerinden birini sunmaktadır. Jabogan Yazıtı, bu çevrede en iyi muhafaza edilmiş, en uzun yazıtlardan biri olmasından dolayı son yıllarda Altay Cumhuriyeti’nde keşfedilmiş en önemli Eski Türk runik yazıtlarından birisidir. Bu yazıt, burada şimdiye dek keşfedilen yüzden fazla yazıtla birlikte Altay Cumhuriyeti’nin Eski Türkçe runik yazı geleneğinin yaşadığı en önemli coğrafi bölgelerden biri olduğunu kanıtlamaktadır. Jabogan Yazıtı için yapılmış çeşitli okuma denemeleri bulunmasına karşın bu yazıtın eksiksiz bir şekilde incelenmiş olduğunu söylemek mümkün değildir. Bununla beraber, şimdiye kadarki okunmuş bölümler, bu yazıtın etkileyici eski Türkçe bir şiirin parçası olduğunu göstermektedir

The article presents one of the first attempts to read the inscription Jabogan found in the vicinities of the village Jabogan in the Republic Altai. This is one of the most important discoveries of Old Turkic runic inscriptions in the Republic Altai during the last decades. It is one of the longest and best preserved inscriptions in this region. Along with more than one hundred inscriptions that have been discovered here up to now, it proves that the Republic Altai is one of the most important geographical areas where the Old Turkic runic writing tradition had existed. Although there are already several interpretations of this inscription, we cannot say that it has been deciphered in full. Nevertheless, the parts that have been read by now prove that it is an impressive piece of Old Turkic verse
