OPINIONS OF STUDENTS CONTINUING SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHING UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM REGARDING DISTANCE EDUCATION DURING COVID-19 EPIDEMIC PROCESS
The aim of the study is to determine the opinions of students who continue their special education teacher undergraduate program about the distance education they received during the COVID-19 outbreak. The case study design, one of the approaches in qualitative research, was used in the study. The data of the research were collected with a semi-structured interview form. By choosing easy case sampling from the purposive sampling methods, 10 students attending Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University Education Faculty Special Education Teaching Undergraduate Program were determined as the participants of the research. Due to the epidemic face-to-face interviews could not be held, so they were held via Google Meet. The data obtained as a result of the interviews were analyzed with the content analysis method. As a result of the study, it was found that the distance education received during the pandemic process was not effective compared to face-toface education, students had less interaction with their classmates and lecturers, and their class absenteeism increased. In addition, students stated that it is beneficial in many different ways, such as being able to continue their education in extraordinary situations such as epidemics, tending to search for more resources, and attending classes independently of time and place.
