Skuamöz hücreli larenks kanserinde Ki-67 ve p53 ekspresyonu

Amaç: Bu çalışmada, skuamöz hücreli larenks karsinomlarında p53 tümör baskılayıcı gen ve Ki-67 antigen ekspresyonunun diğer konvansiyonel prognostik parametrelerle ilişkisi değerlendirildi.Hastalar ve Yöntemler: Skuamöz hücreli larenkskarsinomu tanılı 37 hastanın ameliyat örneklerinde Ki-67ve p53 ekspresyonu araştırıldı. İmmünperoksidaztekniği ve monoklonal antikorlar kullanılarak, hastalara ait rutin fikse frozen ve parafine gömülü dokukesitleri immünhistokimyasal analiz yöntemiyle değerlendirildi.Bulgular: Histolojik derecelendirmede tümörler beşolguda iyi, 24 olguda orta, sekiz olguda ise kötü diferansiye olarak belirlendi. On olguda lenf nodu metastazı izlenirken, vasküler invazyon dokuz, sinir invazyonu 15 olguda görüldü. p53 pozitifliği 15 olguda %40.5 , Ki-67 ekspresyonu ise 31 olguda %83.8 saptandı. Ki-67 ekspresyonu lenf nodu metastazıolanlarda daha yüksek oranda saptanırken, ilişki anlamlı bulunmadı. Ki-67 ve p53 ekspresyonu ile konvansiyonel prognostik faktörler arasındaki ilişki anlamlı bulunmadı p>0.05 .Sonuç: Çalışma verileri p53 ve Ki-67’nin skuamözhücreli larenks karsinomlarında prognostik parametrelerle ilişkisi olmadığını göstermektedir

Expression of Ki-67 and p53 in laryngeal squamous celi carcinomas

Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the expression of p53 tumor suppressor gene and Ki-67 antigen in laryngeal squamous celi carcinoma and its relation to conventional prognostic indicators.Patients and Methods: p53 and Ki-67 expressions were evaluated in surgical specimens of 37 patients 34 males, 3 females; mean age 57.2 years; range 35 to 75 years with squamous celi carcinoma of the lar- ynx. Immunohistochemical studies were performed in routinely fixed and paraffin-embedded tissue sections using the immunoperoxidase technique and monoclon- al antibodies. Results: The tumors were well-, moderately, and poorly differentiated in 5, 24, and 8 patients, respec- tively. Ten patients had lymph node metastasis, nine patients had vascular invasion, and 15 patients had neural invasion. Ki-67 and p53 nuclear staining was detected in 31 83.8% and 15 40.5% tumors, respectively. The incidence of Ki-67 expression was higher in patients with lymph node metastasis, but this did not exhibit significance. Neither p53 nor Ki-67 immunoexpression was in significant association with conventional clinicopathological parameters p>0.05 .Conclusion: These data indicate that p53 and Ki-67 are not correlated with conventional prognostic para meters in squamous celi carcinoma of the larynx.
