İntihar terörizmi, terörizmin kendisi kadar geçmişe götürülebilecek olmasının yanında özellikle 21. Yüzyılda gelişen teknolojiden ve küreselleşmeden yararlanmakta ve terör örgütlerinin envanterinde kendisine yer bulmaktadır. Asya, Ortadoğu, Amerika ve dünyanın birçok bölgesinde yer alan terör örgütleri amaçları doğrultusunda intihar yöntemini kullanmaktadır. Terörizm gibi intihar terörizmi de politik bir alanda konumlandırılmaktadır. Bu nedenle söz konusu kavram ortak bir görüşün olmayışı sorununu yaşamaktadır. Çok farklı coğrafyalarda yer alan ve farklı motivasyon kaynaklarına sahip olan terör örgütlerinin intihar terörizmi yöntemini benimsemesindeki nedenler farklılık gösterebilmektedir. İntihar terörizminin nedenleri bireysel, örgütsel ve çevresel düzeyde analiz edilebilmektedir. Yapılacak olan çalışmada intihar terörizmi kavramının literatürdeki tartışmasına yer verilecek, tarihten örneklerle süreç içerisindeki değişimi ele alınacak ve son olarak nedenleri 3 farklı düzeyde analiz edilecektir.

Besides the fact that suicide terrorism can be taken back as terrorism itself, it benefits from the developing technology and globalization, especially in the 21st century, and finds its place in the inventory of terrorist organizations. Terrorist organizations in Asia, Middle East, America and many parts of the world use the suicide method for their purposes. Like terrorism, suicide terrorism is located in a political field. For this reason, the concept in question has the problem of lack of a common view.. The reasons why terrorist organizations, which are located in very different geographies and have different motivation sources, adopt the suicide terrorism method may differ. The causes of suicide terrorism can be analyzed at the individual, organizational and environmental level. In the work to be done, the discussion of the concept of suicide terrorism in the literature will be included, its change in the process will be discussed with examples from history and finally its causes will be analyzed at 3 different levels.
