Tekstil endiistrisine hauajeti ile sentetik iplik teksturesinin girmesinin tarihi, sentetik ipliklerin ticari olorak bu endiistri dalzna girmesi kadar eskidir. EVOLUTION OF THE AIRJET TEXTURING PROCESS-A HISTORICAL REVIEW

The introduction of the airjet texturingprocess to the textile industrygoes almost as far back as the commercial introduction of the synheticfilamentyarns themselues. Although nylon 6 and nylon 6.6. were experimentally synthesised in the 1930s. the full scale deuelopment ofpolyamide andpolyester filament yarns occurred after World War II.It was soon aftemwards that the first US and British patents for the processing of filament yarns with o cold air stream started to appear. This relatively oldprocess only made its major aduances within the current decade,partly due to the hindrance of licensing based on patent protection. Today the airjet texturingprocess is the third mqjor texturingprocess after the false-twist texturing and Bulked Continuous Filament IBCF) processes.Its recent success is due to deuelopment based on basic research by uniuersity researchers and by the nozzle producerst hemselves. This somewhat nostalgicpaper dwells on thepotent literature from the aearly beginnings up to the present time and illustrates the enormous development that has takenplaceparticulory over the lost decade.
