FRANSA VE ALMANYA’DA FEODALİZM’İN ASKERİ VE SİYASİ YÖNDEN GELİŞİMİ

Feodalizm Antik Roma’daki koruma ilişkisine dayalı patronaj ve Germen savaş arkadaşlığı geleneğinin karışımıyla ortaya çıkan askeri ve idari bir sistemdir. Bu sistem Merovenjlerde ve Vizigot İspanya’sında ilk tohumlarını atmasından sonra Karolenjlerin askeri ve idari yapısına girmiştir. Buna rağmen Feodalizm çeşitli yabancı istilalar ve iç çekişmelerin ardından anarşik devletsiz bir ortamı yansıtan pek çok bölgesel gücün kendi bölgesinde idareci olduğu yapıya dönüşmüştür. Capetler Fransa’daki çok sayıda yerel gücü kendi şemsiyeleri altına toplamayı bir nebze başarmışlardır. Almanya ise ilk olarak Otto Hanedanından itibaren Karolenj geleneğini sürdürerek merkezi yapısını koruyabilmiştir. Almanya’da kişisel bağlılıklar, fief ve vassalite gibi kavramların daha geç yerleşmesi de bunda etkili olmuştur. Bunun sonucunda Salian Hanedanı imparatorlarının son döneminde yaşanan büyük soylu isyanları ile Friedrich Barbarossa gibi Hohenstaufen Hanedanı’na mensup imparatorların onları bastırma süreci, ortaya çok sayıda küçük feodal devlet çıkarmış ve Almanya böylece Fransa’nın yaşadığı süreci yaşamaya başlamıştır.
