Antik Grek yerleşim terminolojisinde "Ethnos"

Antik Batı dünyasının yerleşimleri söz konusu olduğunda antik ya da modern yazarların en sık kullandıkları kavram “Polis” olmuştur. Durum böyle de olsa modern çalışmalar, Grek tarihi içinde Polis kavramının belirmeye başladığı sekizinci yüzyıldan itibaren Ethnos bölgelerinin de varlık gösterdiğini, üstelik bu yerlerin zaman içinde, konfederasyonlar oluşturup politik bakımdan yükselişe geçtiğini işlemektedirler. Ethnos'ların varlık gösterdiği bölgeler, bu bölgelerdeki politik gelişmeler antik dönem yazarlarınca da konu edilmiştir. Çalışmamızda Grek tarihi açısından Polis'in yanında öne çıkan Ethnos'ların yoğunlukla İ.Ö. 4. yüzyılda yaşadıkları politik yükselişlerine değin nasıl varlık gösterip zaman içerisinde ne tür gelişimler gösterdikleri antik yazarların konuya yaklaşımlarına yer verilerek irdelenmektedir

The Term "Ethnos" in Greek Settlement Terminology

When the subject is ancient western settlements the "Polis" is mostly the most used term. Even though, modern studies point that there were also Ethnos regions beside poleis and in time having constituted federations these regions became politically active. These "ethnos regions" and their political evolutions are also attested by ancient writers. In our study we deal with the state of these "Ethnos" regions' concerning the era till their political advance, the fourth century, concerning classical writers references
