Amaç: Salgın sürecinde büyük risk altında zorlu şartlarda çalışan hemşirelerin bu sürecin olumsuz sonuçlarından etkilenmeleri muhtemeldir. Geleceğin hemşireleri olacak aday hemşirelerin de bu olumsuz süreçten etkilenmeleri beklenen bir sonuçtur. Bu araştırma COVID-19 pandemisi sürecinde hemşirelik öğrencilerinin yaşadığı COVID-19 korkusu ile hemşirelik mesleğine yönelik tutumlarının değerlendirilmesi ve bu iki durum arasındaki ilişkinin karşılıklı olarak incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlar ışığında literatüre katkı sağlanması hedeflenmiştir. Yöntemler: Tanımlayıcı araştırma desenindeki çalışmada Fırat Üniversitesi Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesinde öğrenim görmekte olan tüm hemşirelik öğrencilerine ulaşılmaya çalışılmış, 270 kişiye ulaşılabilmiştir. Veriler online olarak bireylere dağıtılmış olan demografik özelliklere dair sorulardan, COVID-19 korkusu ölçeği ve hemşirelik mesleğine yönelik tutum ölçeğinden oluşan anket formu ile toplanmıştır. Bulgular: Elde edilen verilerin analizi sonucunda, katılımcıların COVID-19 korkusu düzeylerinin ortalama seviyede, hemşirelik mesleğine yönelik tutumlarının ise olumlu düzeyde olduğu görülmüştür. Bireylerin hemşirelik mesleğini tercih etme tutumu ile yaşadıkları COVID-19 korkusu arasında iki yönlü negatif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu saptanmıştır. Sonuç: Hemşirelik öğrencilerinde hemşirelik mesleğine yönelik olumlu tutumun, yaş arttıkça arttığı, hissedilen COVID-19 korkusu arttıkça ise azaldığı saptanmıştır. Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin yaşadığı COVID-19 korkusunu ve hemşirelik mesleğine yönelik oluşan veya oluşabilecek olumsuz tutumlarını azaltmak, bu sürecin olumsuz etkilerinden daha düşük düzeyde etkilenmeleri sağlamak için gerekli tedbirlerin alınması ve uygulanması büyük önem arz etmektedir.

Purpose: During the epidemic process, nurses working under difficult conditions at great risk are likely to be affected by the negative consequences of this process. It is an expected result that prospective nurses, who will become future nurses, are also affected by this negative process. This study aimed to evaluate nursing students' fear of COVID-19 during the COVID-19 pandemic process and their attitudes towards the nursing profession and to examine the relationship between these two situations. In the light of the results obtained, it is aimed to contribute to the literature. Methods: In the descriptive research design, it was tried to reach all the nursing students studying at Fırat University Faculty of Health Sciences and 270 people were reached. The data were collected with a questionnaire form consisting of questions about demographic characteristics, COVID-19 fear scale and attitude towards nursing profession scale distributed to individuals online. Results: As a result of the analysis of the data obtained, it was seen that the participants' levels of fear of COVID-19 were at average levels and their attitudes towards the nursing profession were at a positive level. It has been determined that there is a two-way negative significant relationship between the attitude of individuals to prefer the nursing profession and the fear of COVID-19 they experience. Conclusions: It has been determined that the positive attitude towards the nursing profession among nursing students increases as the age increases and decreases as the perceived fear of COVID-19 increases. It is of great importance to take and implement the necessary measures to reduce the fear of COVID-19 by nursing students and their negative attitudes towards the nursing profession and to ensure that they are less affected by the negative effects of this process.
