S.D.Ü. Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi Protetik Diş Tedavisi Kliniğine müracaat eden hastaların diş rengi dağılımının saptanması

Estetik, günümüz diş hekimliğinde giderek artan bir amaç haline gelmiştir. Bu amaca yönelik çalışmaların önemli bir bölümü de dişlere uygulanacak restorasyonlarının renk tespiti ile ilgilidir. Renk seçimi ve bu rengin aktarılması için sıklıkla “renk skalası” olarak adlandırılan bir referans kullanılır. Son yıllarda, bu yöntemin içerdiği bazı subjektif kriterleri elimine etmek için elektronik cihazların kullanımı gündeme gelmiştir. Bunlardan biri olan Spektrofotometre, tüm dalga boylarındaki yansıyan ışığı toplayarak ölçümü yapılan dişin rengini sayısal değerlerle ya da kullanılmakta olan bir renk skalasının renk kodları ile bildirebilmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi Protetik Diş Tedavisi kliniklerine müracaat eden hastaların bir spektrofotometre (Vita Easy Shade) aracılığı ile Vita Skalasına göre diş rengi dağılımının saptanmasıdır. Çalışmaya, gönüllü, üst orta keser dişleri sağlıklı ve restorasyonsuz olan 475 hasta dahil edilmiştir. Ölçümler değerlendirildiğinde, renk kodu dağılımlarının yüzde olarak en çok B2 (13,9), B3 (12,4), C3 (12,2), A4 (10,5) şeklinde dağıldığı, en az yüzdelerin ise A3 (1,7), B1 (1,3), D3 (1,1), D4 (1,1) renklerinde görüldüğü, D1 renginin ise hiç görülmediği saptanmıştır. Bu bilgiler, estetik malzemeler ile ilgili stok kontrolünde yardımcı olabilecektir

Determination of tooth color distribution in the patients who appealed to the Clinics of Prosthetic Dentistry of S.D.Ü.

The demand for esthetics is continuously increasing in modern dentistry. Most of the related studies are about shade determination. A “shade guide” is a standard that is used to select the color of teeth and to communicate about it. As this method involves some subjectivity, electronic devices have been in service to overcome this problem in recent years. Spectrophotometer is a device that can report the color of the teeth in terms of color codes of a predetermined shade guide by collecting the reflected light in all wavelengths of the visible spectra. The aim of this study is to determine the tooth color distribution according to Vita Shade Guide via Vita Easy Shade spectrophotometer in the patients that appealed to the clinics of Süleyman Demirel University, Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Prosthetic Dentistry. Volunteered 475 patients who have a vital and restoration free maxillary central tooth were involved. Results indicate that the most seen color code percentages were as: B2 (13.9), B3 (12.4), C3 (12.2), A4 (10.5), and the least seen were as A3 (1.7), B1 (1.3), D3 (1.1) and, D4 (1.1), where no match for D1 was found. These data will benefit for the stock control of the esthetic materials.
