Döküm malzemelerde bulunan metalik olmayan kalıntıların giderilmesinde seramik filtreler kullanılmaktadır. Bu yöntemde, sıvı metalin kalıp içerisine girişinde yolluk sistemine konulan filtrelerle kalıntılar tutulur. Bu çalışmada filtrasyon işleminde kullanılan bazı filtrelerin özellikleri incelendi. Yapılan deneyler sonucu elde edilen değerler, filtrasyon işleminin demir esaslı döküm malzemelerde kalıntıları azalttığı ve döküm kalitesini iyileştirdiği gözlendi.

Ceramic filters are used to remove inclusions from casting materials. In this method, inclusions are trapped by the filters inserted in the running system as molten metal enters the mold cavity. In this study, characterization of various filters has been investigated. Experimental results showed that filtration process reduced inclusion and improved the casting quality in ferrous casting materials.
