An overwiev of trawl selevtivity by the wievpoint of fisheries management

It's almost inevitable that some effects of fisheries on the fish stocks and fishing grounds. On the other hand, some measures that will be taken may decrease the unwanted / destructive effects to the level as low as possibble. Commonly, trawl selectivity is controlled by mesh size, but recently, it's known that the codend selectivity is under the effect of numerous variables. These variables may affect selectivity directly or indirectly and should be taken into account while designing and operating trawl nets and managing trawl fishery in order to protect living marine resources.
