Bu araştırmada ekonomik değeri oldukça yüksek bir bölümün (Phaeophyta= Kahverengi algler).üyesi olan P.fascia' nın total azot ve protein miktarları ile amino asit içerikleri saptanmıştır. Total azot ve protein miktarı yüksek bulunmuş olup amino asitlerden glutamik asit, prolin, aspartik asit ve alanin esas öğeler olarak bulunmuştur ve sistin tam olarak okunamamıştır.

Determination ofamino acid contents o/Petalonia fascia (O.F.Müll.) Kuntze (Scytosiphonales, Scytoslphonaceae). In this investigation the total nitrogen and protein amounts and amino acids content of P. fascia which has great economical importance (Phaeophyta = Brown algae). Total nitrogen and protein contents were detected as high amounts, and some amino acids such as glutamic acid, prolin, aspartic acid and alanin were found as main fractions while sistin were not available amount to detect.
