Length-weight relationship of Mediterranean slimehead (Hoplostethus mediterraneus) obtained from northeast Mediterranean
This study was carried out to determine the length-weight relationship of Mediterranean slimehead (Hoplostethus mediterraneus) obtained from northeast Mediterranean. For this purpose, a total of 380 individuals (143 females and 237 males) of H. mediterraneus were captured with a commercial trawler from 200-380 m in depth of international water region. Minimum-maximum length and weight of captured fishes were determined as 6.4-15.2 cm and 3.4-43.8 g for females and 6.5-12.3 cm and 3.4-23.7 g for males respectively. Length-weight relationships of H. mediterraneus were found as W=0.013*L2.9841, r2=0.9493, SEb=0.039 for all individuals, W=0.0128*L2.9929, r2=0.9388, SEb=0.068 for females and W=0.0131*L2.9827, r2=0.9446, SEb=0.047 for males. According to b values, all individuals, females and males showed an isometric growth (t-test: P > 0.05)
