Obstrüktif Uyku Apne Sendromu ve Metabolik Sendrom İlişkisi

Farklı ülkelerde yapılan epidemiyolojik çalışmaların sonucunda obstruktif uyku apnesi prevalansı erkeklerde %3-7, kadınlarda ise %2-5 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Ülkemizde 2010 yılında yapılan Turkish Adult Population Epidemiology of Sleep Disorders çalışmasında obstrüktif uyku apnesi prevelansı erkeklerde %11,1 kadınlarda %20,2 olarak bulunmuştur. Yüzde on kilo kaybı obstrüktif uyku apne sendromu semptomlarının yüzde %26 azalmasına sebep olmaktadır.

Relationship with Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Metabolic Syndrome

A result of epidemiological studies conducted in different countries, the prevalence of obstructive sleep apnea while in women and man were identified as 2-5% and %3-7. In our country in 2010 TAPES (Turkish Adult Population Epidemiology of Sleep Disorders) has revealed the prevalence of obstructive sleep apnea in men to be 20,2% and in women as 11,1%. As for general population, individual with obstructive sleep apnea are higher prevelance of metabolic syndrome. The increase of the frequency of obstructive sleep apnea severity of the diagnostic criteria for metabolic syndrome increases with increased insidance has been seen. apnea-hypopnea index, and oxygen desaturation correlates with visceral adiposity. Systemic effects, such as obesity, visceral adiposity, male gender, postmenopausal status, hypertension, diabetes are common features in the formation of obstructive sleep apnea and metabolic syndrome. Ten percent weight loss of the symptoms of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome causes a reduction of 26%.
