Aim: The aim of this review is to examinepsychological health of child workers and relatedfactors.Method: The original studies were accessed throughPubMed, Cochrane, ScienceDirect and PsychInfodatabases between 2000 and 2015 and throughScirus search engine between 2000 and 2013."Child workers", "child workers and psychologicalhealth", "young workers and psychological health",were used as the keywords. 11.174 studies, whichhave been originally written in English, wereexamined and 7 original articles were chosen fromamong them for this study.Findings: It was seen that all of these 7 studies onpsychological health status of child workers havebeen carried out in undeveloped countries. The totalnumber of samples of the researches included in thesystematic review was 3989. There was a strongassociation between the psychological healthproblems and work related conditions such as longworking hours, low social support level inworkplace, not having weekly or annual leave, working uninsured and exposure to violence inworkplace (p<0.001).Conclusion: Working environment and conditionslead to serious health problems in children. Despitethe increase in child labour especially in developingcountries, it was seen that there is not sufficientnumber of researches on protection andimprovement of child workers' health and onpreventive strategies to keep them away fromdiseases. The compliance of working conditions withinternational standards should be ensured.
