For developing countries, the currency board took over the place off central bank. The objective of the study was the investigation of the currency board system. In this study, we found that in the countries practising currency board system, the inflation and interest rates decrease, but this caused a current account balance, and increased the total public depts stocks and because of not having final money lenders in the financial system, ıt was found that small banking crisises, become financial crises. However in Turkey's practising, ıt was reduced that, with the inflation rate, public dept stocks,the imbalance in payments, ıt couldn't be usefull without performing the necessary the structural reforms.

Para kurulları, enflasyonla mücadelede gelişmekte olan ülkeler için merkez bankacılığı uygulamasının alternatifi olmaktadır. Yapılan araştırmalarda para kurulu sistemini uygulayan ülkelerde enflasyon ve faiz oranlarının düşmesi ile yüksek büyüme hızlarının elde edildiği; ancak ödemeler bilânçosu açığı oluşturduğu, işsizlik oranını artırdığı, finansal piyasalarda nihai ödünç verici pozisyonunun olmaması nedeniyle küçük bankacılık krizlerini finansal krizlere dönüştürdüğü saptanmıştır. Türkiye uygulamasında ise enflasyon oranı, kamu kesimi borç stoku, ödemeler bilânçosu dengesizlikleri ile para kurulu sisteminin gerekli yapısal reformlar sağlanmadan yararlı olamayacağı sonuçları elde edilmiştir.
