Stem and leaf anatomy and achen structure of Senecio vulgaris L. subsp. vulgaris, Senecio lividus L. and Senecio viscosus L.

Genus Senecio (Asteraceae) is represented by 52 taxa in Flora of Turkey (43 species, 3 subspecies and 6 varietes). 20 of these 52 taxa are endemic to Turkey and the endemism ratio is 40%. This study is comprises the species of Senecio vulgaris L. subsp. vulgaris, Senecio lividus L. and Senecio viscosus L. distrubuted in Turkey. Stem and leaf anatomy of the species wereexamined by light microscopy, and achene fruit structure was examined by light and transmission electron microscopy. This study aims to identify morphological, anatomical andhistological differences between these species and contribute to the resolution of taxonomic problems of the genus.
