Çalışma kapsamında ‘öteki’ olgusu üzerinde durularak, bu olgunun bir çeşitlemesi olan cinsel yönelim farklılığına dayalı ötekiliğin Türk Sineması’ndaki tezahürlerine bakılmıştır. Cinsel yönelim temelli ötekilik olgusu, sinemamızda ilk kez 1990’larda gerçekçi biçimde beyazperdeye yansıtılmış bir konu olması nedeniyle yine bu yıllara ait öncü bir film bağlamında ele alınmıştır. Araştırma yöntemi olarak kuramsal kısımda betimleyici bir yaklaşım tercih edilmiş; uygulama kısmında ise Dönersen Islık Çal adlı Türk filminde yer alan ana karakter (travesti) üzerinden sosyolojik bir yaklaşımla, Türk Sineması’nda ötekinin temsili ve bu temsilde travestilerin varlığı toplumsal cinsiyet politikalarıyla beslenen bir okumayla irdelenmiştir.

In the framework of the study, has been focused on the phenomenon of ‘the other’ and which is a variation of otherness that based on sexual orientation differences have been examined on the movies in Turkish Cinema. The phenomenon of ‘the otherness based on sexual orientation’ is an issue that reflected to silver screen at the first time in the 90s’ with a realistic view. In this reason, the issue is examined in the context of a pioneer film which is belonging to the same years. In the theoretical chapter, preferring a descriptive approach as the research method, a literature review has been done; as for in the application chapter, the movie which name is Dönersen Islık Çal analysis has been made by a sociological reading.
