The cinema of Western Europe is better understood by tracing Mulvey’s texts, observing her concerns, her choices, and the movements in which she has taken part. Her writing comes from a lifetime, and listening to the ever-young woman in this interview evokes memories of the magical days of 1968, with hints of the sort of resistance that we thought about again during to the resistance witnessed in Turkey during the Gezi protests.
