Investigation the effects of sprint training on different surface on sprint and reaction time performance
The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of sprint training in water and training on sand on 30 meter sprint and reaction time performance. 18 football players (19,1±1,1 year age and 8,5±2,1 year sport age) participated in to the study voluntary. Players randomly divided in to two working groups (water group and sand group). Players performed same sprint training for 10 weeks with 3 days a week. 30 meter sprint and reaction time performance recorded before and after the training by using Telemetric Stopwatch (Koltest 2010). Mann-Whitney U Test used to analyze data. Finding accepted at p>0.05 level. Analyze showed that; there was not any significant difference according to pretest and posttest performance of 30 meter sprint and reaction time between groups. Beside there was higher improvement on reaction time of water groups but it is not statistically significant. As a result, it is possible to say that sprint training in water more effective method to improve athletes’ reaction time.
