Isırma kuvvetlerini simüle etmek için inferior süperior yönde kuvvet uygulandı. Kuvvet-yer değiştirme değerlerikaydedildi. Bulgular: 120, 150, 180 ve 200 N yüklemede beş farklı fiksasyonsisteminin yer değiştirme değerleri arasında önemli farklılıklargözlendi (p

Biomechanical Comparison of Different Fixation Systemsafter Le Fort I Advancement Osteotomy: An in Vitro Study

Background: The aim of this study is to explore the effect offive different plate-screw systems on the stability after LeFort Iosteotomy in polyurethane skull models.Materials and Methods: Standard titanium miniplates, titaniummicroplates and bioabsorbable plates were applied for theinternal fixation of artificially created LeFort I osteotomy onpolyurethane skulls. Load applied in inferior-superior directionto simulate bite forces. The load-displacement values wererecorded. Results: Significant differences were observed among thedisplacement values of five fixation systems at 120, 150, 180and 200 N of loading (p< 0.05). The highest displacementvalues were observed in the 4RLt-Micro group with theincreasing load. The 4RLt-Mini and 4LLt-Mini groups showedthe least displacement values, and the 4LLt-Mini group showedless displacement than the 4RLt-Mini group. The 2Lt/2It- Miniand 2Lt/2Ir-Mini groups showed proximate displacement valueswith the 4RLt-Mini and 4LLt-Mini groups. Conclusion: The results of this study show that the left sided Lminiplates provide more stable results than the right sidedones. Also, it may be said that while sufficient stability can beobtained, the problem of palpability is also eliminated with theuse of bioabsorbable plates in the regions with thin muscularityin combination with standard titanium miniplates. However, further in vitro and in vivo studies needs to be conducted toconfirm these results.
