Aşı reddi ve topikal fluorid reddinin değerlendirilmesi

Koruyucu tedaviler bireylerin hastalığa yakalanma riskini ve sonrasında ölüm riskini oldukça düşüren tedavilerdir. Aşının reddedilmesi bireysel olduğu kadar toplumsal birçok soruna yol açmaktadır. 2010 yılından sonra yetişkinler arasında görülen çocukluk çağı hastalıklarının sayısının artması, oluşan kızamık ve kabakulak salgınları çocukluk dönemi aşılarının önemini bir kez daha kanıtlar niteliktedir. Topikal fluorid uygulaması da diş çürüklerinin önlenmesinde etkisi 1++ derecesinde kanıtlanmış koruyucu bir uygulamadır. Aşı ve topikal fluorid uygulamalarının reddedilme prevalansı, nedenleri ve bu redde karşın alınabilecek önlemlerin tespiti birey ve toplum sağlığı açısından önem taşımaktadır. Aşı reddi nedenlerini dini nedenler, felsefi nedenler, güvenlik endişeleri ve sağlık çalışanlarından daha fazla bilgi alma olarak sıralayabiliriz. Topikal fluorid reddi nedenlerini sorgulayan bir araştırma bulunmazken topikal fluorid reddi nedenlerini aşı reddi nedenleriyle ilişkilendiren araştırmalar mevcuttur

Evaluation of immunization and topical fluoride refusal

Preventive treatments reduce the risk of individual's disease and the risk of death afterwards. Vaccine refusal leads to not only individual problems but also public problems. Increasing number of childhood diseases among adults after 2010, measles and mumps outbreaks once again demonstrate the importance of childhood vaccinations. Topical fluoride application’s efficacy on tooth decay protection was proven as 1++. The prevalence and the reasons of vaccination and topical fluoride refusal and the precautions to the refusal are important for individuals and public health. Vaccine refusal reasons can be classified as religious reasons, philosophical reasons, safety concerns and the desire for additional education. In literature there is no study about the reasons of topical fluoride refusal but there are few studies that associate the vaccine and topical fluoride refusal.
