Anahtar kelimeler: Tipografi, Deneysel Tipografi, Fütürizm, Konstrüktivizm.ABSTRACTAs a result of the development of movable type with the Industrial Revolution, typography hasachieved a more orderly system than handwriting. As this new method has made possible to make manymore copies in a shorter amount of time, texts were able to reach a wider audience. The attempts to push therules of typography, which had begun with poets and writers, has reached its peak with the avant-garde artmovements aiming to create the words and the images of the new mechanized world. The goal of this studyis to analyze avant-garde art movements with regard to their use of typography, as these movements shapedhow the new world perceives design and typography. Therefore, only the movements that have a relationto typography are analyzed. The research is carried out by means of scanning relevant literature, and byanalyzing resources and examples concerning graphic design and typography. The research emphasizesthat, though modern typography is based on avant-garde art movements, there has also been experimentalapproaches that predate these movements. We've investigated why these efforts weren't as successful asavant-garde art movements. It was also determined that, through the systems used and spread by avantgardeartists, typography has turned into something that could be looked at, in addition to being somethingto be read. Keywords: Typography, Experimental Typography, Futurism, Constructivism.
