EVALUATION OF COLOR STABILITY AND COLOR ADAPTATION ABILITY OF A SINGLE SHADE UNIVERSAL RESIN COMPOSITE TO NATURAL TOOTH TISSUE
with a singleshade universal composite resin, and the color change resulting from aging of the enamel and restoration in different beverages, and the correlation between them. Class V cavities were drilled into the labial surfaces of 50 maxillary anterior permanent human teeth and restored with Omnichroma (Tokuyama, Tokyo, Japan). The color of the restoration and enamel was measured with a spectrophotometer. To measure the color stability, teeth divided into 5 groups as red wine, cola, turnip, coffee, and distilled water (n=10). The color measurements were repeated at 1, 3, 7, and 14 days. The color change was calculated using CIEDE2000 formula. The blending effect of the restoration and surrounding enamel was above the aceptable thre shold regarding hue and chroma. Turnip caused the mostcolor change of the restoration for all measurement times (p<0.05). No correlation was found between the colorchange of the tooth and restoration at days 7 and 14 for all beverages. Universal composite resin showed an acceptable match with the color of the enamel. However, the color difference increases with the aging in different liquids.
