Özçeviri bağlamında Suat Derviş’in Çılgın Gibi eseri

Çağlardan beri sözlü ve yazılı olarak gerçekleştirilen çeviri süreci, anlam ve biçimsel eşdeğerliğin yanı sıra içerdiği diğer unsurlarla da karmaşık bir süreçtir. Çevirmenin kimliği, bilgi birikimi, kaynak kültüre hakimiyeti ve yazarla olan ilişkisi de çeviri faaliyetinin daha geniş bir çerçevede değerlendirilmesini gerektirmektedir. Bir metnin kendi yazarı tarafından bir başka dile çevrilmesi veya çeviri sürecinde yazarın başka bir çevirmenle ortaklık etmesi gibi değişkenler çeviri sürecinin farklı açılardan da ele alınmasını zorunlu kılmaktadır. Özçeviri terimi bir yazarın kendi yazdığı metinleri başka bir dile çevirme eylemini karşılamaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Suat Derviş’in Fransızcaya Les Ombres du Yali olarak çevrilen Çılgın Gibi adlı eserinin özçeviri bağlamında, yapı ve içerik açısından incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Bu bağlamda, yazar ve çevirmenin aynı kişi olmasının kaynak metin ve hedef metinde ortaya çıkardığı etkiler irdelenmiş ve eserin başka bir dilde yeniden yazılmış bir eser mi olduğu yoksa aslına uygun çevirinin mi gerçekleştirildiği incelenmiştir. Yapılan incelemeler sonucunda, çalışmada eserin hedef dile aktarımında ciddi değişiklikler yapıldığı ve eserin aktarılırken kaynak dilden farklı biçimde kurgulandığı gözlemlenmiştir.

Analysis of Çılgın Gibi in the context of selftranslation

The acts of interpretation and written translation that have been in the field for ages are complex processes in terms of semantic and stylistic equivalence along with other elements. Identity and qualification of the translators and their relationships with source culture and source-text author require a comprehensive framework for the analysis of the translations. Unusual practices such as a text translated into another language by its own author or the co-operation of the translator and the source-text author require analysis by non-traditional points of view. The term selftranslation refers to the translation of a source-text into another language carried out by the source-text author, which is an untouched matter in Turkey to a great extent. This study analyzes the work titled Çılgın Gibi of Suat Derviş translated into French with the title Les Ombres du Yali within the scope of selftranslation concept in French-Turkish language pair. In this context, the analysis is based on how the fact that the translator is the same person as the author affects the source and target texts and whether the text should be considered as a translated text or an original work written in another language. This study tries to analyze these translation strategies with regard to the original and translated texts. Following the analyzes, it is observed that the transfer act into the target language caused variations to the extent that the text structure showed divergences compared to the original text.
