Köpük Model Döküm (KMD) Yöntemi ile döküm üretimi diğer döküm yöntemlerine göre yüksek boyut hassasiyeti, düşük maliyet, daha iyi döküm kalitesi ve daha az döküm hatası üretme gibi avantajlarından dolayı sürekli olarak artmaktadır. Köpük Model Döküm Yöntemi üzerindeki gelişmeler döküm ve model parametrelerinin belirlenmesi ve kontrolü üzerine odaklanmaktadır. Köpük Model Döküm Yönteminin kullanımı bu alanda teknolojik ve cihazların gelişimi ile birlikte artmaktadır. Ne var ki ülkemizde köpük model döküm yöntemi ile döküm üretimi ve bilimsel araştırmalar yok denecek kadar azdır. Bu makale, Köpük Model Döküm Yöntemi üzerinde önemli gelişmeleri özetleyerek, yöntemin ülkemiz açısından önemini belirtmektir.

Casting production by the lost foam casting process continuously increases comparing to other casting processes, since it offers many advantages such as high dimension accuracy, low cost, better casting quality and less casting defects. Developments in the lost foam casting process have focused on controlling the pattern and casting parameters. The use of lost foam casting process increases as technological and instrumental developments increases in this field. However, cast production and scientific researches on the lost foam casting process is quite limited in Turkey. This paper summarizes some of the more recent developments in the lost foam casting process and emphasizes the importance of this process for Turkey
