Olympia’dan İki Zafer Listesi

Olympia’da İmparatorluk Dönemi’ne ait zafer listeleri oldukça az sayıda ele geçmiştir. Bunların ara-sında Rodoslu Leon’a ait onurlandırma yazıtı (Neue Inschriften von Olympia 30) şekil, içerik, düzen ve birçok başka açıdan oldukça dikkat çekicidir. Kaide ve üzerinde yer alan metin büyük olasılıkla Rodos’ta hazırlanmıştır. Bu bağlamda Planudes’in Antolojisi’ne yer alan (50) aynı sporcuya ait Augustus Dönemi’nde kaleme alınmış bir şiir de değerlendirilmiştir. Bu şiirde bahsi geçen kura, Herakles ve Nemea aslanı ile ilgili imalar açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Makalenin ikinci kısmında tellâl Publius Aelius Artemas ile ilgili yazıt (I.Olympia 237) İmparator Hadrianus’un reforme ettiği agonistik takvim kapsamında tekrar gözden geçirilmiştir. Bu sanatçı 135 ile 137 yılları arasında İmparator tarafından tekrar yürürlüğe koyulan birçok prestijli yarışmada birincilik elde etmiştir. Bu birinciliklerin arasında 137 yılında Atina’da düzenlenen Panhellenia yarışması yer almaktadır. Publius Aelius Artemas aynı yıl Olympia yarışmalarında da şampiyon olmuştur.

Deux palmarès d’Olympie

Inventories of the victories of champions from the Imperial period found at Olympia are very rare. The inscription of Leon of Rhodes (Neue Inschriften von Olympia 30) is remarkable in every way, by its form, its writing, and its arrangement. The base was in fact made, and the text inscribed, on Rhodes. We also reexamine the epigram Anthology of Planudes 50, which refers to the same person, probably to be dated from the Augustan period; we explain the allusion to the draw and to Hercules fighting against the lion of Nemea. The inscription of the herald Publius Aelius Artemas (I.Olympia 237) should be reread in the light of the reform of the agonistic calendar operated by Hadrian; this artist won between 135 and 137 in the first cele-bration of many games that were created or reformed by the emperor, including the Panhellenia of Athens in 137, not long before his victory in the Olympia of the same year.
