Bazı Lykia Tanrılarına İlişkin Öneriler

Yazar Plutarkhos’un beddua tanrıları olarak bahsettiği Arsalos, Dryos ve Lyk. Trzzuba’dan köklenen Trosobios’un, sırasıyla Arsada yer adında olduğu ‘yukarı’ anlamına gelen Lik. hrzze/i-, ‘aşağı’ anlamına gelen Lyk. ẽtre/i- ve ‘üçüncü’ anlamına gelen Lyk. *trzze/i- sözcüklerinden türemiş olabileceklerini ileri sürmektedir. Makalede ayrıca TL 84’te geçen Lyk. Tuwerise, yer adından türetilmiş olan ve Zeus Tourios’a denk düşen bir tanrı adı olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Yazar son olarak yine bir yer adından türetildiğini düşündüğü Tobaloas’ın ise Trebelysis şahıs adında olduğu gibi, ama rho harfinin düşmesiyle Lyk. *Trbbaluwa’dan türetilmiş olabileceği yorumunda bulunmaktadır.

Zu einigen lykischen Götternamen

Plutarch’s curse gods Arsalos, Dryos and Trosobios, the latter from Lyc. Trzzuba, may be derived, respectively, from Lyc. hrzze/i- ‚upper‘, like the toponym Arsada, ẽtre/i- ‚lower‘, and *trzze/i- ‚third‘. Tuwerise in TL 84 is identified as a theonym derived from a toponym, corresponding to Zeus Tourios. Tobaloas is interpreted as derived from a toponym too and probably, with the omission of a rho, from *Trbbaluwa like the personal name Trebelysis.
