Bilateral epidural hematom: olgu sunumu

Bilateral epidural hematom nadir görülen bir durumdur. Genelde kafa travmalarını takiben oluşmaktadır. Nadir görülmesine rağmen mortalitesi yüksektir. 5 yaşında erkek hasta yüksekten düşme şikâyeti ile başvurdu. Tetkiklerinde bilateral epidural hematom saptanması üzerine acil şartlarda opere edildi. Cerrahi sonrası klinik durumu tamamen düzelerek taburcu edildi. Bilateral epidural hematom nadir görülmesine rağmen müdahale edilmesi gereken acil bir durumdur. Lezyonun yerine göre eş zamanlı bilateral kraniotomi ile cerrahi yapılması uygundur.

Bilateral epidural hematoma: a case report

Acute bilateral hematomas have higher mortality rates than unilateral epidural hematomas. They are rare presentation of traumatic head injury. The autors described the case of 5 years old male presenting trauatic head injury, Glascow Coma Scale of 15, isocoric pupils. Computed tomography showed bilateral frontal epidural hematomas, obliteration of the lateral ventricles frontal horn and sulci, a bilateral skull fracture reaching the vertex. Bilateral simultaneous drainage was made at the surgery. Patient was discharged with no neurological deficit. The correct approach on bilateral epidural hematomas depends on the volume, diagnosis time and neurological status. Immediately simultaneous drainage of bilateral hematomas has been shown to be an effective method for it.
