Developments Experienced in the Spatial Distribution of Population in Turkey (1935-2000)

Economic development process of a country may lead to important differentiation in national space. Spatial organization of a country is subject to continuous restructuring. In macro-geography the terminology 'spatial organization of a country connotes distribution of population in national space. Therefore transformation in spatial organization of any country is represented through statistics expressing spatial distribution of population. In this paper, transformation of spatial organization of Turkey in the period 1935-2000 will be displayed along with the exploration of the possible use of statistical techniques for the description of this transformation.
