En bilinen ve yaygın tanımıyla “amel yönünden kişinin hak ve yükümlülüklerini bilmesi” demek olan fıkıh; , on dört asır boyunca İslâm toplumlarının saadet ve güvence kaynağı olmuş ilâhi bir hukuk sistemidir. Bu bağlamda İslâm hukukunun başlangıçtan günümüze kadar geçirdiği ve İslâm hukukunun kaynakları konusu, İlâhiyat ve İslami İlimler Fakültesi öğrencileri için çok önemlidir. Çünkü mezkûr öğrencilere esaslı bir usul ve füru fıkıh bilgisi verilmek isteniyorsa, bu öğrencilerin öncelikle ve özellikle İslâm hukukunun tarihi kaynaklarını güvenilir kaynaklardan öğrenmiş olmaları gerekir. Bu sebepledir ki “İslâm Hukukuna Giriş”, “İslâm Hukuk Tarihi” dersleri, İlâhiyat ve İslami İlimler Fakülteleri’nde İslâm hukukuna ilişkin olarak okutulan ilk ve zorunlu olan derslerdendir. Bu alanda Prof. Dr. Abdullah Çolak tarafından yazılan “İslâm Hukuk Tarihi ve İslâm Hukukunun Kaynakları” adlı kıymetli eseri değerlendirilmeye lâyık bir eser olarak gördük ve değerlendirdik.

Fiqh, which means “knowing one’s rights and obligations in terms of actions, with its best known and most common definition, is a divine legal system that has been a source of happiness and security for Islamic societies for fourteen centuries. In this context, the period of Islamic law from the beginning to the present and the sources of Islamic law are very important for the students of the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Sciences. Because if it is desired to give a fundamental knowledge of fiqh method and fiqh to the aforementioned students, these students must first and foremost learn the history of Islamic law and the sources of Islamic law from reliable sources. For this reason, a sufficient knowledge of fiqh and a sufficient Islamic law acquis can only be built on a solid and fundamental knowledge of “History of Islamic Law” in the faculties mentioned above. For this reason, the “Introduction to Islamic Law” or “History of Islamic Law” course is one of the first and compulsory courses, even the most important one, in the Faculties of Theology and Islamic Sciences. In this field, we have seen and evaluated the valuable work titled “History of Islamic Law and Sources of Islamic Law” written by Prof. Dr. Abdullah Çolak as a work worthy of evaluation.
