Path Descriptors for Flight Procedures

Path descriptors are two letter codes which translate textual description of flight procedures into a code for the navigation database. There are 23 path descriptors in ARINC 424 but only 11 of them are used for an area navigation (RNAV) procedure design. In this study, path terminator leg types will be explained and path descriptor coding rules and charting will be presented.
