In this paper, fatigue fracture progression has been investigated based on a safety-based approach. Fatigue fracture progression problem is formulated using the principals of Fracture Mechanics. A performance function has been created making use of fracture's reaching critical dimensions. An explanatory example has been provided and it has been observed by the results of the example that variation in the dimension of the first fracture reduces safety.
