In practice, the vehicle body mass (sprung mass) changes depending on the loading conditions such as the number of riding persons and payload. Also, the time constant of damping force is not easy to measure precisely and it can be slightly altered by certain conditions such as operating temperature. This influences control performance adversely. Therefore controller is to be robust. In this study, firstly, LQR and H- controller, are designed for quarter car model. Then, the model is simulated and, controllers'performance are examined at frequency and time domain. Finally, vehicle body mass is changed +%40 and, damping constant is changed -%40 and, then the model is simulated again with the same controllers. At the end of the study, it is seen that H- controller gave very good results in spite of the changes of parameter of the system.
