Genel olarak bir çok işletme, maliyet yönetimi ile ilgili çalışmalarını işletme içindeki fonksiyonel gruplar üzerinde yapmaktadır. Oysaki stratejik maliyet yönetiminin temeli işletme maliyetlerinin dışsal çevre ve pazar faktörleri göz önüne alınarak belirlenmesi ve performans ölçümüne dayanmasıdır. Tedarik zinciri yönetimi ise tüm tedarik zinciri boyunca zincire katılan ortakların üretim maliyetlerini en aza indirmek amacıyla tüm tedarik kanalının performansını etkileyen süreçlerin tasarımı ve yönetilmesini kapsamaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı; maliyet kontrolünde etkin bir yöntem olan ve tüm mamul yaşamını dikkate alan Hedef Maliyetleme yönetiminin tedarik zinciri yönetiminde maliyetler üzerindeki etkisi ölçülmeye çalışılacaktır.

Generally many business enterprises implement their studies about cost management on the functional groups within the enterprise. However, the basis of strategic cost management is that business costs are determined by taking into account external environment and market factors and depend on performance measurement. On the other hand, supply chain management comprises the design and management of processes affecting the performance of whole supply channel to minimize production costs of partners participating in the chain throughout the whole supply chain. The aim of this study: measuring the effect of Target Costing management on the costs in supply chain management as an effective method for cost control and considers whole product life.
