FİNANSAL KRİZ, FİNANSAL PERFORMANS VE YÖNETİM KURULUNDAKİ BAĞIMSIZ ÜYELER: 2008 KÜRESEL FİNANS KRİZİNDE BİST İMALAT SEKTÖRÜNE YÖNELİK BİR ARAŞTIRMA

Bu çalışmanın ilk amacı 2008 Küresel krizin BİST imalat sektöründeki işletmelerin finansal performansına etkisini araştırmaktır. İkinci amacı, yönetim kurulunda bağımsız üye bulunmasının finansal performansa ve kriz dönemindeki finansal performansa etkisini araştırmaktır. Çalışmada, 2008 Küresel krizin işletmelerin finansal performansını negatif yönde etki ettiği tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca yönetim kurulunda ba- ğımsız üye bulunma durumu ile finansal performans arasında pozitif fakat anlamsız bir ilişkiye rastlanmıştır. Elde edilen diğer bulgu, 2008 Küresel kriz döneminde yönetim kurulunda bağımsız üye bulunma durumu ile finansal performans arasında negatif ve anlamlı bir ilişki oldu- ğu yönündedir.

FINANCIAL CRISIS, FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE AND INDEPENDENT MEMBERS ON BOARD OF DIRECTORS: A RESEARCH FOR MANUFACTURING INDUSTY IN BIST DURING 2008 GLOBAL FINANCIAL CRISIS

First purpose of this paper is to investigate the effect of 2008 Global Crisis on companies financial performance in BIST Manufacturing Industry. Second is to investigate the effect of presence of independent board member on financial performance and financial performance during financial crisis. In this paper, we find that 2008 Global Crisis has negative effect on companies financial performance. Additionally we find that there is positive but not significant relation between presence of independent board member and financial performance. Our another empirical finding is that there is negative and significant relation between presence of independent board member and financial performance during 2008 Global Crisis.
