İLKOKUL ÇOCUKLARI İÇİN OKUL MUTLULUĞU ÖLÇEĞİ’NİN (İÇİOMÖ) GELİŞTİRİLMESİ: GEÇERLİK VE GÜVENİRLİK ÇALIŞMASI
Bu araştırmanın amacı, ilkokul çocuklarının okul mutluluk düzeylerininölçülmesine yönelik kısa bir ölçme aracının geliştirilmesidir. Araştırma, 2019-2020 eğitim-öğretim yılında 1-4. sınıflarda eğitim gören toplam 414 öğrencininkatılımıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Örneklemin 193’ü (%46.6) kız, 221’i ise (%53.4)erkek öğrencilerden oluşmuştur. Katılımcıların 47’si (%11.4) birinci sınıfa, 127’si(%30.7) ikinci sınıfa, 107’si (%25.8) üçüncü sınıfa ve 133’ü (%32.1) dördüncü sınıfa devam eden öğrencilerdir. Araştırmada, katılımcı yaşları 6 ile 11 (x = 8.56;ss = 1.13) arasında değişmiştir. Yapı geçerliği kapsamında Açımlayıcı ve Doğrulayıcı Faktör Analizi sonuçları, İlkokul Çocukları İçin Okul Mutluluğu Ölçeği’nin 4-maddeli tek boyutlu bir yapıya sahip olduğunu göstermiştir. Hedefölçek ile ölçüt ölçme aracı (İlkokullar İçin Kısaltılmış Okul İklimi Ölçeği Sınıfve Okul Desteği alt ölçeği) arasındaki anlamlı korelasyon katsayısı, İÇİOMÖ’ninölçüt-bağıntılı geçerliğe sahip olduğunu göstermiştir. Güvenirlik analizleri, İÇİOMÖ’nin Cronbach alfa ve test-tekrar test güvenirlik katsayısının .61 olduğunugöstermiştir. Sonuç olarak, araştırma bulguları İÇİOMÖ’nin ilkokul çocuklarınınokul mutluluğunun ölçümünde kısa, geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğunu desteklemiştir.
DEVELOPING THE SCHOOL HAPPINESS SCALE FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL CHILDREN (SHSPSC): VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY STUDY
The aim of this research was to develop a brief instrument assessing the school happiness of primary school children. The research was conducted with the participation of 414 students enrolled in 1-4th grades during 2019-2020 academic year. The sample was composed of 193 (46.6 %) female and 221 (53.4 %) male students. 47 of the participants (11.4%) were students who attend the first grade, 127 (30.7%) were in the second grade, 107 (25.8%) were in the third grade and 133 (32.1%) were in the fourth grade. Participants’ ages ranged between 6 and 11 (M = 8.56, sd = 1.13). In the validity study, Exploratory and Confirmatory Factor Analyses revealed that The School Happiness Scale for Primary School Children (SHSPSC) has a 4-item unidimensional structure. The significant correlation between the target scale and criterion scale (Abbreviated School Climate Survey, Classroom and School Supportives subscale) indicated that SHSPSC has criterion-related validity. Reliability analyses demonstrated that Cronbach’s alpha and test-retest reliability coefficients of the SHSPSC is .61. In conclusion, research results supported that SHSPSC is a short, valid, and reliable instrument for assessing school happiness of primary school children.
