Eğitimde Satranç

Satranç, içinde farklı türde bir çok öge bulunduran, birbirine aykırı bir çok şeylerden oluşan ve ataklara dayalı bir eğitimsel etkinlik olarak kabul edilmektedir. Eğitimsel olarak ise, satrancın yaratıcılığı, okumayı, zekayı, muhakeme ve düşünme becerilerini geliştirdiği görülmektedir. Ayrıca satranç, hayal gücünü de geliştirir. Araştırma sonuçları satrancın öğrencilerin öğrenmeleri üzerinde olumlu bir etkiye sahip olduğunu göstermektedir. Bazı ülkeler satrancı eğitim programları çerçevesinde ayrı bir ders olarak okutmaktadırlar. Ülkemiz de de satrancım eğitim programına girmesi yönünde çalışmalar yapılmaktadır. Bu çalışmaların ayrı bir ders olarak programa alınması ve öğrenci gelişimine ne düzeyde katkıda bulunduğunu belirlemek için Türkiye’de de çalışmalar yapılmalıdır.

Chess includes many characteristics, consisted of many opposites and is accepted as an educational activity based on attacks. For educational purposes, chess improves creativity, reading, IQ, analitical and thinking skills. It also improves imagination. Findings of research point out that chess has a positive influence on student learning. Some countries integrated chess in their educational curriculum as a separate course. Recently, there has been efforts to include chess in the education programs in Turkey as well. More studies needed to determine and to include chess in educational programs as an independent course and to what extend it contributes to student development in Turkey.
