Rectal rupture caused by compressed air: A case report

The rectosigmoid injuries may be caused by gunshot, stab wounds, and aggravated sexual assaults; during rectoscopy, thermometer applications or other iatrogenic examinations. in this report a 31-year-old male, who had rectal rupture following application of compressed air produced by a compressor to the anal region by his friend as a joke is discussed. He was urgently operated with the diagnosis of rectal rupture. He undenvent a Hartmann colostomy. Traumatic colon injury is a life-threatening problem, although it is rarely seen. The most common etiology of colorectal injury is gunshot wounds. This case is interesting in its etiology.
