Seramik-cam uygulamalı sanatlarında eğitimin asıl amacı yaratıcı fikri üç boyutlu hale getirmektir. Sanat-tasarım eğitiminde malzeme ile ilgili en önemli etken her türlü teknik donanıma sahip atölyelerin varlığıdır. Çağdaş eğitim ve öğrenimin ihtiyaçları ancak bu atölyelerin varlığı ile karşılanabilir.Marmara Üniversitesi BAPKO (Bilimsel Araştırma Projeleri Komisyon Başkanlığı) birimi ile gerçekleştirilen Seramik ve Cam Bölümü- Sıcak Cam Atölyesinin Kurulması Projesi ile eğitim programlarının ve derslerinin, olanakları zenginleştirilmiş atölye koşullarında sürdürülmesi sağlanmış, bununla birlikte sıcak cam eğitiminde gerekli donanım ve ekipmanların atölye ortamında öğrencinin kullanımına sunulması gerçekleşmiştir.Bu proje ile öğrencilerin teorik ders kapsamında öğrendiği tüm bilgileri; ( sıcak cam şekillendirme,  kalıba üfleyerek şekillendirme,  sıcak cam şekillendirme teknolojisi ve teknikleri) üç boyutlu uygulamalara dönüştürme olanağı sağlanmıştır. Geliştirilmiş atölye olanakları Tasarım-Projelendirme-Uygulama çalışmalarına çok önemli bir ivme kazandırmıştır

The main purpose of ceramics-glass applied arts education is to present creative ideas in three-dimensional forms. The most important factors in the materials related to the art-design training are the presence of ateliers which are equipped with the necessary technical equipment. The needs of modern teaching and learning can only be met with the presence of these ateliers.The Department of Ceramics and Glass of Marmara University has established a Hot Glass Atelier with the collaboration of BAPKO (Department of Scientific Research Projects Commission), by means of this atelier the training programs and courses are enriched and the hot glass has become available for the students’ education. With this project, all of the theoretical information learned by students in the courses (hot glass forming, blow molding, shaping, hot glass forming technology and techniques) were given the opportunity to be converted into three dimensional applications. Improved atelier facilities have seriously accelerated the works of Design-Project-Application.
