İkili kontrol performansını etkileyen en önemli ayarlama diferansiyel aralık ayarıdır. Bu ayarlamada dikkate alınacak unsurlar, birbirleri ile zıt ayarlama şartlarını gerektiren iki unsur olan, kontrol sisteminin sağlayacağı kontrol kalitesi ve sistemi oluşturan elemanlardan bazılarının işletme ömürleridir. Kontrol edilen sistemin ve son kontrol elemanının birlikte oluşturdukları dinamik sistemin mertebesi iki veya daha fazla ise, gerçek işletme diferansiyeli kontrol cihazı üzerinde ayarlanmış olan değerden daha fazladır. Bu durum, açma ve kapama frekansını da etkiler. Bu makale söz konusu olayı tanıtmakta, ikili kontrol sistemlerinin analitik ve simülasyon yöntemleri ile incelenebilmelerini sağlayan iki bilgisayar programı vermekte, ve bu programların çalıştırılması ile elde edilmiş bazı sonuçları sunmaktadır.

The fundamental parameter that determines the performance of an on-off controller is the differential gap. This setting is a tradeoff between the control quality provided by the control system and the service lives of some of the components that comprise this system. However, if the plant and the final control element constitute a dynamic system of order two or more, the actual operating differential is larger than the value set on the controller. The on-off cycling frequency is affected also. This paper describes the above phenomenon, presents two computer programs for the investigation of these nonlinear systems by the analytical and the simulation methods, and gives some representative results from running these computer programs.
