Qur’anic Approach to the Phenomenon of Beauty

This article aims to enlighten the approach of Qur’an to the phenomenon of beauty. Al-husn, al-jamal, az-zuhruf, az-zinah, al-haly/at-tahliye are key terms concerning this idea that the Qur’an presents. According to the Qur’an, the area of aesthetical reality is not only physical field but also it includes metaphysical field. Namely, the Qur’an cites the beauty phenomenon as a metaphysical element, a natural motif, a physiological feature, an ethical characteristic and an artical work. Besides, this research aims to explain the relationships between beauty and God, beauty and paradise, beauty and universe, beauty and human, beauty and ethic.
