Machinability of nickel-based superalloys and titanium alloys, part III: Evaluation of cubic boron nitride (CBN) cutting tools’performances

In this study, the performance of cubic boron nitride (CBN) cutting tools were assessed in the machining of nickelbased superalloys and titanium alloys with different operations through examination of the studies in the last decade. The aim of the study is to evaluate the machinability of these materials with CBN tools and to determine of these tools’ performances in different machining conditions. Evaluations and conclusions reached in this area will contribute to the scientific study and at the same time, is expected to be helpful for practitioners working in the manufacturing sector. This study also complements two different works relevant to evaluating the performances of carbide and ceramic cutting tools in the machining same superalloys.
