DOĞU AKDENİZ BÖLGESİ GRAVİTE ANOMALİLERİ

Doğu Akdeniz gravite anomalileri, Anadolu gravite anomalileri ile bağlanmak ve Anadolu'da alınan profiller boyunca gravite değerleri ile topografik yükselimler arasında lineer korelasyon sabiti analizleri yapılmak suretiyle değerlendirilmiştir. Doğu Akdeniz'de tespit edilmiş yüz miligallik anomali farkının, gravite değerleri ile topografik yükselim münasebetlerinin ve garip izostatik münasebetlerin Anadolu'da da mevcut olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Gravite anomalilerine göre Doğu Akdeniz Bölgesi, lokal anomaliler hariç, aşırı kompanse iken, Anadolu'nun genel olarak az kompanse olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu kompansasyon şartlarının, anormal izostatik münasebetler ve gravite değerleri ile topografik yükselimler münasebeti ışığında, mantodaki düşük süratli astenosferden ileri geldiği ileri sürülmüştür. Kıbrıs ve Ege denizi lokal pozitif izostatik anomalileri, düşük süratli astenosfer üzerindeki, satha yakın yüksek dansiteli malzeme ile izah edilmiştir.

GRAVITY ANOMALIES OF THE EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN

Eastern Mediterranean gravity anomalies, supplemented by Anatolian anomalies and linear correlation coefficient analysis of gravity values and topographic elevation along several profiles in Anatolia are evaluated. It is observed that the hundred milligals difference in gravity values, the gravity anomaly-topography relations and peculiar isostatic conditions seen in Eastern Mediterranean are also seen over Anatolia. It is observed that, while The Eastern Mediterranean is over-compensated with respect to gravity anomalies, Anatolia is undercompensated. In the light of peculiar isostatic conditions and gravity value-topographic relations, it is suggested that the compensation conditions in the region are due to a low-velocity asthenosphere in the mantle. Local positive isostatic anomalies of Cyprus and Aegean sea are explained by local, near surface heavy material over the low-velocity asthenosphere.
