Büyük Menderes’in Erken Dönem Sosyo-Kültürel Gelişiminde Çine-Tepecik Kazıları

Büyük Menderes Bölgesi’nin dağlık ve ovalık araziyi bir arada yansıtan coğrafi yapısı, yerleşik yaşamla birlikte önemli bir faktör olmuş ve toplumların sosyal yaşamını doğrudan etkilemiştir. Büyük Menderes’in (Meander) oluşturduğu derin vadinin batıda Ege denizine açılması, doğuda ise, İç Anadolu platosuna uzanması, bu bölgenin sosyo-kültürel yaşamını etkilediği gibi, çevre kültürlerle ticari faaliyetlerin de aktif olmasında rol oynamıştır. Çine-Tepecik, Büyük Menderes Nehri’nin güney kollarından biri olan Çine Çayı’nın kenarında, bereketli topraklara sahip ovada yer alan bir merkezdir. Höyüğün yerleşim süreci, Kalkolitik dönemden itibaren Tunç Çağları sonuna değin kesintisiz devam eden kültür tabakalarını kapsamaktadır. Kazıların ortaya koyduğu neticeler, Tepecik’te erken toplumların geçim kaynaklarını belirleyen tarım ve hayvan kaynaklarına dayalı bir sosyal yaşamı öne çıkarmakta ve bu kaynakların her dönem önemini yitirmediğini göstermektedir. Bu kaynaklara dayalı besin ekonomisi, aynı zamanda belli teknolojik gelişime de olanak sağlamıştır. Toplumların yaşam biçimi, geliştirdikleri teknoloji ve ekonomik düzen, M.Ö. 2. Binyılı yerleşmesinin şekillenmesinde belirleyici olmuştur. Ekonomik işleyişte, farklı endüstriyel alanların güncel olduğu görülmektedir. M.Ö. 2. Binyılı yerleşmesinde depo yapılarının ve atölyelerin yer aldığı, güçlü kulelerle desteklenmiş, savunma sistemine sahip kent yapısında, sosyo-kültürel ve ekonomik yapılandırma çok açık olarak görülmektedir. Çine-Tepecik, bölgedeki gücü ve sosyal düzeyiyle, bölgelerarası ticaretini aktif yürüten bir merkez konumundadır.

Çine-Tepecik Excavations in the Socio-Cultural Development of Büyük Menderes in the Early Period

The geographical structure of the Büyük Menderes (Meander) Region, which reflects the mountainous and plains together, has been an important factor with the settled life and has shaped the social life of the societies. The opening of the deep valley formed by Menderes to the Aegean Sea in the west, and its extension to the Central Anatolian plateau in the east, not only affected the socio-cultural life of this region, but also played a role in the active commercial activities. Çine-Tepecik, which is located on the Çine plain, near the one of the southern branches of Menderes, is an important settlement located on a plain with fertile lands on the edge of the Çine Stream. The earliest cultural layer in the mound belongs to the Chalcolithic period. The settlement process continued uninterruptedly until the end of the Bronze Age. The results of the excavations highlight a social life based on agriculture and animal resources that determined the livelihoods of the early societies in Tepecik and show that these resources have never lost their importance. These resources and substance economy have also enabled certain technological development in the 2nd Millennium BC. The lifestyles of the societies, the technology they developed and the economic system were decisive in shaping the 2nd Millennium BC settlement. With its power and social level in the region, Çine-Tepecik is an important settlement that actively conducts interregional trade.
