Bu araştırmada, kadın bedeninin resim sanatı bağlamında metalaşması önde gelen sanatçılar ve eserleri üzerinden incelenmiştir. Modern sanat sürecinde ve sonrasında gerçekleşen gelişmeler, ekonomik, sosyolojik, teknolojik, toplumsal ve kültürel yeni oluşumları beraberinde getirmiştir. Bu yeni oluşumlar, sanat ve kadın bedeni ekseninde de gerçekleşmiş ve sanatçılar ile sanat alıcısı-izleyicisinin talepleri/yeni deneyimler tatma isteğinden kaynaklanmıştır. Sanatçılar bireyselleşmiş ve özgürleşerek kendi iç dinamiklerini çalışmalarına büyük bir heyecan ve haz duyarak aktarmışlardır. Sanatta pek çok imge ve olgu ile karşılaşılmaktadır. Bu imge ve olgular arasında sanata malzeme olmuş önemli unsurlardan biri insan bedenidir. İnsan tasvirinde ilk sırayı kadın bedeni alırken günlük hayatta olduğu gibi, sanatta da her iki cinsiyet tarafından seyri haz uyandıran unsur olmuştur. Kadın bedeni erkeğin cinsel hazlarına hitap eden imge, kadınlarda ise ideal olan kadın standardına benzeme ve imrenilesi bir ütopya olması bakımından yüzyıllar boyu süregelmiştir. Sanatın önemli bir parçası olan kadın bedeninin, cinsel bir metaya dönüşmesinin değerlendirilmesi gerektiği düşünülmektedir. Bu bağlamda literatür taraması yapılarak sanatta cinsel bir meta olarak kadın bedeni irdelenmiştir.

In this research, the commodification of the female body in the context of painting is examined through leading artists and their works. The developments that took place in the process of modern art and after it brought about new economic, sociological, technological, social and cultural formations. These new formations also took place on the axis of art and the female body and resulted from the demands/desire to taste new experiences of the artists and the art buyer-viewer. Artists became individualized and liberated and transferred their inner dynamics to their work with great excitement and pleasure. Many images and phenomena are encountered in art. Among these images and phenomena, one of the important elements that became the material of art is the human body. While the female body takes the first place in human depiction, it has become an element that brings pleasure to both genders in art as in daily life. The image of the female body appealing to the sexual pleasures of men, the ideal of women in terms of resembling the female standard and being an enviable utopia has continued for centuries. It is thought that the transformation of the female body, which is an important part of art, into a sexual commodity should be evaluated. In this context, the female body as a sexual commodity in art was examined by making a literature review.
