Bu araştırmada, Afyonkarahisar’daki koyunculuk işletmelerinde çalışanların hayvan refahını etkileyen faktörlere ilişkin algılarının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Veri toplama yöntemi olarak anket kullanılmıştır. İşletme çalışanlarının hayvan refahını etkileyen unsurlar ile ilgili algılarının belirlenebilmesi amacıyla beş boyuta ait toplam 34 maddeden oluşan ölçek geliştirilmiştir. Bu anket, Afyonkarahisar iline bağlı Şuhut, Emirdağ, Çay ve Sultandağı ilçelerindeki 19 köyde faaliyet gösteren toplam 103 koyunculuk işletmesinde çalışan 177 işgören üzerinde uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, koyunculuk işletmelerinde çalışanların hayvan refahını en fazla düzeyde etkilediklerini düşündükleri maddelerin “personelin mutluluğu ve işini severek yapma durumu” ile “hayvanların yavruları ile ilişki süreci” olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bununla birlikte, işletme çalışanlarının hayvan refahına ilişkin daha önce herhangi bir eğitim almadığı da belirlenmiştir.

In this study, it was aimed to determine the perceptions of employees regarding the factors that affect the animal welfare in sheep farm operations in Afyonkarahisar. Questionnaire was used as data collection method. In the study, a scale having 34 items belonging to five factors was developed in order to determine the perceptions of employees regarding the factors that affect the animal welfare. The questionnaire was performed for 177 employees in 103 sheep farms in 19 villages of Şuhut, Emirdağ, Çay and Sultandağı towns of Afyonkarahisar province. According to results of this study, the items, thought by the employees of sheep farms affecting the animal welfare in a maximum level were “personnel happiness and love one’ job” and “relationship of sheep with their lambs”. In addition to this, it was determined that the employees of farm operations had no training on factors effecting animal welfare
