Dünyada Ya$h intiharIan Epidemiyolojisi

Yaşlûarm intiharlarının ölçüsü olarak, 65-74 ve 75+ yaş gruplarındaki intihar hızları kullanılmaktadır. Yaşlı nüfusun artması ve sosyoekonomik gelişmeler, yaşlı intiharlarını gündeme getirmiştir. Macaristan, Avustuıya ve Finlandiya, yaşlı intiharlarının en sık olduğu ülkelerdir. Türkiye, Yunanistan ve Şili'de ise yaşlı intihar hızlan en düşük düzeydedir. 75+ yaş grubunun intihar hızları 64-75 yaş grubundan yüksektir. Erkek yaşlılarda intihar hızları, kadın yaşlıîardaki hızların 2-3 katı kadardır. Kalp hastalıkları, kanser, depresyon ve organik ruhsal bozukluklar yaşlılarda intihar riskini arttırmaktadır.

As an tndex ofsuictde tn the elderly the rates ofsuicide in 65-74 aand 75+ age groups are commonly referred to. The increase tn the elderly population and the relevant sociocnomical progress have brought the suicide in the elderly intofocus ofattention. Hungary, Austria and Ftnland are the countries with highest rates of suicide in the elderly. This rate is Imvest in Turkey, Greece and ChSe. The rate ofsuicide is higher in tehe 75+ than in the 64-75 age group. This rate is avo to three ttmes higher in the male than in thefemale elderly. Heart disease, cancer, depression and organic mentol disorders increase the risk ofsuicide in elderly people.
