Contribution of remote sensing and GIS for assessment of temporary pools in the province of Benslimane (Morocco)

To assure enduring management of temporary pools in Benslimane, we propose to study a standardized index of discrimination Dayas with teledetection and geographic information systems used by managers to detect, map and monitor this Dayas. The adopted methodology is based on the delimitation of Dayas by two approaches: manual (picture-interpretation) and automatic (binarization by thresholding pictures of indices (indices) based on the topographic map in 1986 and satellite picture MSS 1973 and ETM+2001. According to results, IBR (index of discrimination Dayas) is particularly adapted for the detection of free water. However, the other indices tested in our study indicate a allow capacity for detecting masses of free water to the spatial resolution of LandsatMSS pictures.
